F-18 Pilots Return to Oshkosh

Going to Oshkosh is a memorable experience for anyone in love with aviation. Whether you’ve saved, planned, and dreamed for years to get here or you’re a local who’s been coming since you were a kid, the pilgrimage always makes an impression. At AirVenture 2016, we were thrilled to welcome back a couple of Oshkosh natives who used to come as kids. This time, though, they weren’t riding in the back of their parents’ cars but showed up in slightly cooler rides: Lt. Douglas Burdick flew a T-6B Texan II and Lt. Mitch Parmentier arrived in the back seat of an F/A-18 Hornet. Both are active duty U.S. naval aviators, and they were as happy to be back as we were to have them.
