Stinson L-1 Vigilant

The Stinson L-1 was the first of the L-birds, and local Senior Aeromedical Examiner Kevin Green fondly remembers the stories his dad would tell him about flying them during World War II. Pat Harker’s 1941 example is one of 324 ever built, and one of only two currently flying. This gentle giant came to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2016 for a special gathering of liaison aircraft, to many, the unsung heroes of the war. Read the story behind this remarkable restoration in the April issue of Sport Aviation magazine.
