Earning Wings: Flight 5 – Ground Reference Maneuvers

In this lesson Brady was introduced to ground reference maneuvers. They flew these patterns just 600-1,000 feet above the ground.

They brought along a GPS logger so you can see exactly the patterns they did and how well, or how poorly, they did them.

Brady’s task was to fly these patterns and adjust for the wind while holding altitude.

This is a video series that details Brady Lane’s experience (EAA 808095) and process in learning to fly and earning his sport pilot certificate. These were recorded in 2008 and 2009, but remain relevant today for anyone learning to fly.
