EAA Chapter 1572 Partners with Peruvian Air Force to Fly Youth

EAA Chapter 1572 Partners with Peruvian Air Force to Fly Youth

By John Cavero, EAA 1163369

On July 21, 70 children from the Pérez Araníbar orphanage flew thanks to the joint work between the Peruvian Air Force (PAF) and EAA Chapter 1572 of Lima, Peru. The children enjoyed Young Eagles flights on a special day that allows them to dream and fight to become aviation professionals.

The members of the air force felt satisfied and committed to this noble proposal and are willing to help us to provide these opportunities to the children, who represent the future of our country.

The program was attended by General Raul Hoyos de Vinatea, who is the PAF operations commander; Gens. Rommel Malpartida, PAF information director; Carlos Chávez, SEMAN Perú general manager; and Mario Pimentel, PAF education vice director.

Gen. Chávez was a pilot during the event, being able to share his experience directly with the children.

After the event, representatives of Chapter 1572 John Cavero, Pablo Valdivia, Rafael Ferrer, and Gustavo Monzon and PAF Gens. Pimentel and Chavez visited EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2018, where it was possible to appreciate how wonderful aviation is and the high impact it has on education and technological development.

Now this synergy between our chapter and the Peruvian Air Force will foster growth of general aviation in favor of our development as a country.
