EAA’s Attic — Plane-O-Graph

This piece originally ran in the September 2020 issue of EAA Sport Aviation magazine.

Produced by Plane Facts Inc. of New York in 1942, this two-piece cardboard wheel rotates to display pictures and information about United States Army Air Forces fighters, bombers, and trainers. There are 16 airplanes featured, each with a full-color illustration and recognition silhouette. Specifications are provided in most cases, except where “… the War Department has considered that information to be a military secret.” The reverse side shows a collection of various squadron and group insignia.
