Congratulations to Corey Fryman, EAA 1261146, for becoming the first participant in EAA’s Ray Scholars program to solo on Wednesday, March 27.
Corey was the third Ray Scholar selected and is currently taking Sporty’s Learn to Fly Course through the EAA Young Eagles program. He went up in a Piper Cherokee 140 in Cynthiana, Kentucky, home of EAA Chapter 1522.
“I was very excited and definitely a little nervous,” Corey said. “The conditions were great; it was a beautiful day to solo. I feel like I did very well and was well-prepared for my solo.”
Corey said he feels honored to be the first Ray Scholar to solo, and that he can’t wait to get back into the air as he continues to learn to fly.
“I am extremely excited to continue my training and keep on progressing,” Corey said. “I will be forever thankful for the opportunity that EAA and Chapter 1522 has given me in accomplishing my dream.”
