Juxtaposed with the stream of big iron arriving and departing Boeing Plaza throughout the week is the Fun Fly Zone, a special runway dedicated to light-sport and ultralight aircraft that also operates throughout the week. In addition to the Twilight Flight Fest shows at night that hold attendees’ attention through intense nighttime operations, the Fun Fly Zone is home to STOL competitions, powered parachute operations, and all sorts of other fun flying. The place really does live up to the name, and it’s worth getting to if you haven’t had the chance quite yet.
