Julie Clark and Matt Chapman — A Farewell to Air Show Performing

After 40-year careers in the air show business, Julie Clark and Matt Chapman are hanging up their air show uniforms at the conclusion of their 2019 seasons. Julie, known for a patriotic display in her famous Beechcraft T-34, was mentored early on by air show legend Duane Cole and enjoyed an airline career at Northwest Airlines. Matt, best known for his bright yellow, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University-sponsored CAP and Extra routines, also had a successful competition career and finished as high as third place in the World Aerobatic Championships. EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2019 marked each performer’s last Oshkosh, and we had a chance to catch up with them about what it meant to fly in the sky over Oshkosh and be a part of the air show industry.
