Congratulations to Lily Busenbark, EAA 1293705, on passing her private pilot checkride on October 20! Lily, 17, became the Chattahoochee Valley EAA Chapter 677’s first Ray Aviation scholar on the same day that she soloed.
Since soloing on November 22, 2019, she kept herself busy while preparing for her checkride. In her free time, Lily volunteers in chapter activities and with the Young Eagles program, and fulfills her duties in the Civil Air Patrol.
Lily’s CFI, Don Neuberg said she overcame a few nerves and did an excellent job.
“She did a great job on the oral and the flight,” Don said. “…Lily, I’m very proud of you.”
President of EAA Chapter 677 Gary Brossett said Lily is a very active volunteer in the chapter. Prior to COVID-19, she had volunteered 28 hours.
“It’s our young members, like Lily, that keep our chapter alive,” Gary said. “All our members are proud of her accomplishments in aviation.”
