The EAA Chapters office received a generous gift in the mail from EAA Vintage Chapter 25 and their Ray Scholar, Tyler Pierson.
Tyler completed his private pilot certificate on December 8, 2020, rendering him another successful Ray Scholar from the 2020 round. Vintage 25 has made arrangements to stretch their training dollar for their scholars and Tyler was able to complete his training for less than half of the full scholarship. Because of their dedication, access to affordable flying, and superb mentorship, Vintage 25 was able to start another 2020 Ray Scholar with their leftover funds in November. Their second 2020 Ray Scholar, Dylan, has already soloed and is well on his way to becoming yet another Ray Aviation Scholarship success story!
Included is a photo of the contents of the generous gift they sent for our “Chapters Office Snack Stash.”
With 2020 being such a crazy year, the kindness and generosity of Vintage 25 was truly special. We can only assume that same caliber of character has been instilled in their Ray Scholars as well. We are excited to see where the young men they mentored so far will end up in their aviation journey. Vintage 25 have definitely achieved a standard of mentorship that James Ray would be proud of, and I extend huge “kudos” to them and their hard work.
