Our annual Flying Start event was held Saturday morning on September 25. There were 10 adult participants and one Young Eagle that was very eager to learn about what it takes to become a pilot — we just couldn’t say, “Come back later when you’re older!”
Many chapter volunteers supported the event, with a highlight being our own Nigel Thompson (CFI) providing an informative presentation. The rain clouds began to part just as the presentation ended, allowing for some Eagle Flights to commence. There have been numerous reports since then of fun additional flights being completed. Our chapter has grown as we extended a six-month free membership to all that attended!
