Spring cleaning turns up all sorts of things. I know I cleaned that cupboard before, but somehow I missed seeing these: a Saturday Evening Post from May 1, 1943, and another from February 5, 1944. While that discovery by itself is great, the content was even more interesting for a self-confessed airplane nut, with two advertisements for Piper Aircraft in the issues. For those born of the digital age, the Saturday Evening Post was a weekly magazine filled with articles and news items and as in the case of these two, World War II provided much material. By the way, I have flown in both models shown.
