This piece originally ran in the March 2023 issue of EAA Sport Aviation magazine.
Paul Poberezny and the Corben Baby Ace brought EAA to national attention through a series of construction articles published in Mechanix Illustrated magazine in the summer of 1955. Built in the Poberezny family garage in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the little aircraft changed hands before returning to EAA’s permanent collection in 1966. The original vertical stabilizer and rudder, complete with its original covering, was removed and retained when the aircraft was restored for display.
