14-year-old Bo Bollinger from Groveland, Florida, first met his hero Clarence “Bud” Anderson back in 2019, and with the help of his dad and grandma, was able to come back again to meet Bud on Tuesday, July 25, during EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2023! This time, he showed off the very detailed drawing he had made right before leaving for AirVenture of Bud’s airplane Old Crow and a Messerschmitt Bf 109. At the time of meeting Bud, Bo said “It was awesome getting him to sign it! He wanted to sign the drawing even if his hand was shaking.” Bo’s dad Jim proudly proclaimed as he watched his son walk back from meeting Bud, “He was beaming like a ray of sunshine.”
