For the 2005 EAA Youth Art Contest, contestants were asked to design a paint scheme for one of EAA’s two Young Eagles aircraft, a GlaStar 3 (N231YE). Asked to use their creativity and provided with only an outline of the aircraft, more than 200 entries were received from across the country. The winning design, submitted by Aaron Mentowski of Bay Village, Ohio, and painted by Gulfstream of Appleton, Wisconsin, can still be seen on the GlaStar as it continues to fly Young Eagles to this day.
