Chattahoochee Valley EAA Chapter 677 member Mac Molnar, EAA 1028461, flew his 500th Young Eagle on October 28. Mac is a dedicated Young Eagles volunteer and only the second chapter pilot to achieve this milestone. He earned his pilot certificate in 2009, joined EAA, and flew his first Young Eagles on June 29, 2010. He’s participated in 48 local rallies in the past 13 years. “I fly Young Eagles to see the excitement in their eyes and knowing that a few of them will get the bug, like I did, and go on to become the future of aviation,” he said. One of his first-time fliers, Lily Busenbark, was our first chapter Ray scholar and is now a Young Eagles pilot.

“My most memorable Young Eagles flight had to be my 500th Eagle, a young lady who already knew she wanted to be a professional pilot. She was very attentive to my preflight introduction,” Mac said. He went on to say that his most memorable aviation experience was “rocking his wings” at AirVenture Oshkosh 2023.
