My Young Eagles Flight

My Young Eagles Flight

By Aiden Szasz, EAA 1560163

My name is Aiden. I am 9 years old. I love airplanes and learning how they work. I was able to take my first flight through the EAA Young Eagles program. I wanted to share my experience with you. I wanted to let everyone know how fun it was. I want everyone to know how much these opportunities inspire the love of aviation.

I arrived at EAA Chapter 839. I was excited to take my first ride. I was going to take a flight in a Piper Cub! There was a lot of waiting. Then I got to meet my pilot. He was really nice to me.  The moment came when I boarded the airplane. I was a little nervous and excited. I had never been in a Piper Cub.

The moment then was here. We took off. It was the best thing ever! It felt slower than our actual speed. I could see everything from football fields to mountains. Believe it or not the pilot let me control the airplane! I would not say it was hard or easy. The landing was a little bumpy, but fun.

It was a great flight with perfect flight time. After the flight I got to see a hot air balloon. It was big and colorful. It was all so amazing. I can’t wait to do it again.

Thank you to all the EAA pilots who give the opportunity for us to fly.
