EAA Chapter 1098 of Shawnee, Oklahoma, would like to thank the EAA staff for their hospitality at the leadership symposium in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, on October 18-20, 2023. The team was extremely welcoming to us in their ability to adapt to our last-minute travel plans from Oklahoma, causing us to arrive in the late evening on the 18th. The EAA leadership team was extremely professional as well as down-to-earth. This provided a positive atmosphere that was conducive for collaboration, not just from leadership but with other chapter leaders present. There was a lot of information in a short time and many great takeaways.
Our 14-hour drive back home gave us plenty of time to discuss what we were going to do to help promote our chapter better. Some items as easy as using the “gathering” versus “meeting” approach, having a greeter, and some other difficult topics of how we can make ourselves more inclusive to city and airport organizations and officials working toward that win/win solution.
Thank you again to the EAA staff for their hard work in making these leadership and chapter events possible as well as their continued support available to each chapter. We understand that this is a challenging task with many logistical hurdles. The EAA chapters team performed seamlessly, and we thank them all again.
