This spring, Mackenzie Van Panhuis was awarded a $3,000 USD scholarship from EAA. Here is Mackenzie in her own words, talking about how she plans to use the funds.
“I am so honoured to have been selected for the scholarship. I am working towards my PPL and currently have approximately 16 flight instruction hours with six hours solo. I will be using the money in the next few months for my short cross-country, short and soft/rough field takeoffs and landings, and obstacle clearance, as well as solo practice of slow flight, stalls, forced approaches, and spins/spirals. I plan to complete all my hours and Transport Canada exam by the end of 2025 and continue with my CPL through Conestoga College.”
