On Friday, October 3, 2025, the famous Seth “Egg Boy” Holloway, EAA Lifetime 1058791, received his coveted Naval aviator wings of gold! He has certainly come a long way from his egg selling days back in 2012 when he sold 116 dozen eggs from his family farm to get a ride on EAA’s B-17 Aluminum Overcast at AirVenture Oshkosh.
A few years later Egg Boy slipped the surly bonds of earth and earned his private pilot certificate at age 17 while undergoing the grueling application process for the U.S. Naval Academy where, despite getting a few cracks in his shell along the way, he was accepted and, unsurprisingly, four years later, earned a competitive pilot slot.
Seth excelled in Primary Flight Training at the controls of the T-6B Texan II turboprop trainer and earned his place in Naval Advanced Jet Training flying the mighty T-45C Goshawk as a member of Training Squadron Nine, the Tigers, in Meridian, Mississippi. And now, after a year of nonstop high pressure flying, including strike sorties, low level flying, and dogfighting, the Egg Boy has truly become a man.
On Friday, October 3 at 11:00 a.m. CST at the Naval Air Station Meridian Chapel, Lt. j.g. Seth Holloway received his Naval aviator wings of gold, something many dream of, yet few accomplish. While this is a major milestone, the story is just beginning. The next chapter will take place at NAS Lemoore in Lemoore, California, where he will learn how to fly the lethal F/A-18 Super Hornet. Who knows what Egg Man will get into next?
