Frank Borman, EAA Lifetime 300174, was awarded far more than these two trophies during his fantastic aviation and space travel career that took him around the moon and back, although the two featured here are some of the most prestigious. The Robert J. Collier Trophy in the foreground was awarded to Borman and his fellow Apollo 8 astronauts in 1968, while he received the Harmon International Aviation Trophy in 1965 for his work with Project Gemini. Borman donated the trophies along with a number of other historic items from his personal collection that will eventually become an exhibit in the EAA Aviation Museum.
