Checkride Milestone — Jessica Postle

Checkride Milestone — Jessica Postle

Congratulations to Jessica Postle, EAA 1298303, on passing her private pilot checkride on October 9! Jessica’s first exposure to aviation was two years ago, when she was 16, and she took her first Young Eagles flight.

“It completely changed my life,” Jessica said. “I pretty much fell in love with flying. So, I got involved with my local EAA Chapter 402.”

Barney Kempter, EAA Chapter 402 Ray Aviation Scholarship coordinator, recognized Jessica’s passion and encouraged her to apply for the EAA Ray Aviation Scholarship Fund. Shortly after, Jessica became the chapter’s newest recipient and a few short months later she began her training to earn her private pilot certificate.

On October 9, Jessica became the first private pilot in her family.

“It feels great to have my license,” Jessica said. “Two years ago, I had never been in a plane and now I am a private pilot. I was not expecting this to be how my life went, but I’m so glad that it did.”

Currently, Jessica is working on earning her instrument rating and hopes to earn her CFI by March.

“I’m hoping that one day I could possibly work for Capital City Aviation or another great flight school, and just be a CFI for a while building up my experience,” Jessica said. “Anything where I’m in a plane, I’ll be happy, but it’s just finding out the right fit.”

Congratulations Jessica, the future is bright!
