Scholarship Recipient Says Thank You

Scholarship Recipient Says Thank You

My love for aviation all started when I was about 10, when my dad’s buddy would take us flying over to an island called Put-in-Bay each summer for the day.

At the time, I thought it was one of the coolest things and something I would want to do when I was older. Fast forward a few years when I found out about an A&P high school program near me and thought I’d want to be able to work on airplanes as well as fly them.

Spring of my sophomore year I started flying just after getting my driver’s license!

Once I started flying, I was at my local EAA chapter and a member told me about the scholarships EAA offers for flight training. Right away, I started looking into it and applied!

To this day, I can still remember finding out I won when I was living out in Colorado for the summer and seeing the email pop up – I was blown away. The John S. Bradbury Memorial Flight Scholarship helped immensely with my training, covering close to half the costs which I was so grateful for.

Editor’s Note: Congratulations to Jack, who earned his private pilot certificate in April of 2020!
