Chapter 36 Celebrates String of Successes

Ray Franze, president and Ray Scholarship coordinator of EAA Chapter 36 in Hagerstown, Maryland, reports the following exciting news:

“Over the course of a 10-day period (July 15-25), our 2020 Ray Aviation Scholar successfully passed his private pilot checkride, our 2019 Ray Aviation Scholar successfully passed her commercial pilot checkride, and our 2021 Ray Aviation Scholar accomplished his first solo flight. We are excited about the new, young pilots the Ray Aviation Scholarship has supported through our chapter.”

In addition, the chapter awarded its inaugural Walter Green Memorial Scholarship to two students who study aviation maintenance technology at the Hagerstown campus of Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics. “This scholarship helps us celebrate our heritage as a chapter of builders with many of its members employees of the local Fairchild aircraft plant,” Ray said.

Congratulations to each of these individuals and to Chapter 36!
