EAA Chapter 501 Participates in Aviation Career Day

By David L. Jones, EAA Chapter 501 Flight Training Scholarship Coordinator

On Thursday, April 23, New Jersey EAA Chapter 501 was well represented at the Roxbury High School Aviation Career Day. The event was attended by about 200 students from 10 different high schools in the area. There were about 12 different exhibitors including flight schools, drone operators, NJ State Police helicopter pilots, and three captains from Delta Air Lines.

We spoke to numerous students and high school teachers about what EAA offers, what our chapter is involved in, potential flight training scholarship opportunities, and the many educational tools offered on the AeroEducate website. We also made everyone aware of the two upcoming Young Eagles rallies in May and June.

Chapter 501 attendees were:

Emmanuel Hernandez, 2025 Mike Dzurny Flight Training Scholarship winner

Michael Johnson, 2025 Ray Aviation Scholarship winner

Diego Arpino, EAA 501 Youth Program Coordinator

Dave Jones, EAA 501 Flight Training Scholarship Coordinator
