Aviation has been my dream for as long as I can remember, but my journey into this field has not been easy. I grew up in a small rural village in India where girls are often expected to focus on household roles rather than pursue academic or professional growth. Education for young women was not always encouraged, and pursuing a career — especially in a field like aviation — was considered unrealistic.
Despite these challenges, I was determined to continue my studies. The one person who always believed in me was my mother. She supported my dreams fully and made personal sacrifices so I could continue my education. Because of her belief in me, I made the life-changing decision to move to Canada at the age of 16.
Adapting to a new country, culture, and education system was challenging, but determination carried me forward. Over the years, I built my academic foundation and completed my aviation management advanced diploma with distinction. Today, I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics through Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, continuing to deepen my knowledge of the industry.
Along the way, I have gained diverse experience in the aviation industry through both academic and professional roles, including work in airline operations, airport environments, and aviation planning. These experiences have given me a broader understanding of how different parts of the industry connect. I currently work as a duty officer with an air ambulance organization, where I support flight operations and contribute to safety-critical decision-making. This role has strengthened my passion for aviation and my commitment to safety.
I am truly grateful to everyone who has supported me throughout my journey. At the same time, I am committed to giving back to the aviation community. I understand what it feels like to lack support and opportunities, and I want to help change that for others. I hope to mentor young people — especially women — who may feel uncertain about entering aviation or lack the resources to begin. Through mentorship, workshops, and community involvement, I want to make aviation more accessible and inclusive.

Receiving the Aviation Tax Consultants Scholarship is a meaningful milestone in my journey. It not only supports me financially but also gives me the motivation to keep moving forward. I am truly grateful to EAA and the Canadian Council for this opportunity.
As I continue my studies and career in aviation, I carry with me the lessons of resilience, gratitude, and community. My journey has crossed borders — geographical, cultural, and personal — and I hope it inspires others to pursue their dreams in aviation, no matter where they begin.
